“Another great event and well organised. Thanks again to everyone who makes it possible and organising it. Absolutely loved it!”

The third Steel Valley Ride mountain bike event was held on 20th July 2019 and was a sell out event with all 150 places taken by early June.
The 31-mile mountain bike ride, which takes in the Peak District bridleways over Cut Gate and Whinstone Lee Tor, is fast becoming a date for mountain bikers’ calendars. Despite the poor weather forecast, we had a line of enthusiastic riders arriving for registration on the day.
The ride helps to highlight awareness of our charity and also raises valuable funds to support our countryside management work in the area. Massive thanks goes to our event partners and volunteer marshals who are an integral part of the day.
Any future plans for the Steel Valley Ride will be announced on our event website and also via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

30th Anniversary Sponsored Walk

A sponsored walk around Stocksbridge was held on 6th October 2018 to celebrate our 30 year anniversary.
There was a choice of a 12 mile walk or a shorter 6 mile walk, both of which went through ancient woodland and visited local highlights such as Whitwell Moor and the historic village of Bolsterstone. The routes also visited many of the project sites which we have worked in over the years, giving people a flavour of the work we carry out.
All participants received a commemorative metal water bottle and funds raised from the event will go towards supporting our ongoing countryside management work.
More information about the event can be seen on our event page.

Steel Valley Ride: 2018
The Steel Valley Ride took place on 14th July 2018 and had over 100 participants registered to tackle the 31-mile mountain bike route which went over the iconic Cut Gate in the Peak District.
Starting and finishing at Trek Sheffield (Fox Valley, Stocksbridge), the funds raised from this event will go towards helping with ongoing conservation and countryside management work in the area.
The event also raised £468 towards the BMC Mend our Mountains Cut Gate project.
Keep checking the event website and social media for updates on future plans for the event.

Steel Gravel Tour
The Steel Gravel Tour cycling event took place on 22 April 2017 and was hosted in celebration of Stage 3 of the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire ending in Stocksbridge.
Starting and finishing at Full Gas Bikes, Stocksbridge, the route comprised of gravel tracks, roads and bridleways making it open to riders on a variety of bikes.
Many took part in the optional fancy dress competition, judged by the Stocksbridge Mayor, with prizes being provided by Cotic Bikes.
Thank you to all who participated and to our event partners.
The event helped to raise funds towards continuing the ongoing countryside management work undertaken by the Steel Valley Project.
More information about the Steel Gravel Tour can be found on the event website.

Steel Valley Ride: 2016
