We are pleased to say we are taking part in the Stocksbridge Town Councils Participatory Budgeting Scheme where local community groups can apply for funding to support projects improving the local area
Steel Valley Project really needs your support to repair the ancient dry-stone wall and improve the path network in Bitholmes Wood — making it safer, more accessible, and a better place for wildlife. 🦎🌳
With the recent renovation of the Wharncliffe Dragon sculpture, visitor numbers have risen to this wonderful site and the surrounding woods — but muddy, damaged paths and a crumbling stonewall need urgent attention.
Your support will:
✅ Protect important wildlife habitats
✅ Preserve our countryside heritage
✅ Provide training for volunteers in dry stone walling & footpath work
✅ Ensure Bitholmes Wood remains accessible for all
💚 Help us create a lasting legacy for people and nature.
Come along to The Venue on Wednesday 15th October to vote for The Bitholmes Wood project, Doors open at 5.30pm and all participating groups will present a short 5 minute overview of their project between 6.30pm and 7.20pm
There will be displays of all the projects requesting funding where members of the public can ask questions and discuss the projects involved – everyone who attends can vote for their favourite projects and funding will be allocated on the results of the voting.
Voting takes place from 7.20pm and closes at 8pm
So, we really need you to attend and give us your vote!
Please share to show your support for this vital project by attending the event and voting!
