We are pleased to welcome Ryan Harrison to the Steel Valley Project – Ryan joins us as our new Environmental Project Officer, he has been explaining a little bit about himself and the experience he can bring to this role.
I’m Ryan, your new Environmental Project officer, I can’t wait to get stuck into the projects with you. I’m a newcomer to the valley, only moving to Deepcar in November last year, but I am raring to learn and discover all the conservation opportunities it has to offer.
I originally came from a different conservation background, studying Archaeology at university, however I decided on a career in Environmental conservation, as I wanted to help conserve British Wildlife and Countryside. I have over the last 5-years worked for both local authorities and charities in the environmental sector as a River Steward, Ranger and lastly a Countryside Officer.
In my free time I am currently renovating our new home and going hiking around the area with my partner, Heather.
