If you’re an Amazon customer in the UK, you now have the opportunity to nominate the charity of your choice to receive a donation from Amazon of 0.5% of the net purchase price of the eligible products you buy.

By logging into your Amazon account via www.smile.amazon.co.uk you can then select your charity from the drop down menu. The Steel Valley Project is one of the charities listed.

Amazon are keen to stress that for customers, AmazonSmile is exactly the same as the normal Amazon website.

It looks the same and gives the same products at the same prices, with the same service. The only difference is that your purchases could mean a donation from Amazon to your chosen charity.

What is AmazonSmile?

Amazon first launched AmazonSmile for UK customers back in November 2017.

It gave customers the choice to purchase their products by logging into AmazonSmile and Amazon then donated 0.5% of the net purchase price of eligible products to the customer’s chosen charity.

At the time, there were only 11 charities available for customers to choose from. However, in March this year, Amazon opened the site wider and allowed other charities to register their details.

As the Steel Valley Project is now one of these charities listed, it means that you can nominate us as the charity of your choice when purchasing products via AmazonSmile.

More details about using AmazonSmile can be found via this link

We think it’s a great scheme and it will make all of us here at the Steel Valley Project smile if you choose our charity 🙂
