Since its establishment, The Steel Valley Project has worked to manage habitats for
wildlife, people, landscape and heritage in partnership with land owners and community
It has extensive experience in managing wood, heath, grass and wetland habitats.
This is on sites ranging from nature reserves to school grounds, and includes boundary
management such as dry stone walls, hedges, and fencing.
We work with private landowners such as Tata Speciality Steels and local authorities
including Sheffield City, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough and Bradfield Parish Councils.
Habitat management projects are supported through advice, surveys, preparation of
management plans and practical work.
